Tangier to Merzouga Desert trip highlights
Day 1
Tangier- Chefchaouen
You are picked up by our guide at Tangier’s airport and driven to Chefchaouen, which was established as a covert base of operations to attack the Portuguese settlements on the north coast. Europeans were not allowed to enter the village until the Spanish army arrived in 1920. Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, spend the day becoming acquainted with the city. In the motel for the night.
Day 2
Exploring Chefchaouen
Breakfast and a free day in Chefchaouen, the holy mountaintop city that is surrounded by a biosphere reserve. Visitors can enjoy stunning metropolitan panoramas, priceless samples of regional crafts, and a peace and tranquility that are difficult to find today on its streets, which are painted white and blue. Its inhabitants are very courteous and kind. In the motel for the night.
Day 3
Chefchaouen – Fez
We keep traveling until we reach Fez, an imperial city that dates to the eighth century. The pride of having one of the oldest colleges in the world as its home makes it one of the first holy cities for Muslim worship in Morocco. Free day to unwind and make your first impressions of the city that will take you back in time.
Day 4
Fez – Merzouga
We depart for Midelt after breakfast, traveling through the middle Atlas’s highlands and cedar forests. We travel by the lovely ski resort of Ifrane and Azrou, a significant handicraft hub known for its work with cedarwood. After crossing the Zad Pass (2,178 meters), we go to Midelt for lunch before continuing on to Erfoud via Errachidia and the Ziz Valley in the afternoon. Then, we proceed to Erg Chebbi’s dunes for the desert tours. Dinner and a night in a hotel or, if you prefer it in Merzouga, a desert tent.
Day 5
Merzouga – Fez – Meknes
After an early sunrise, we will ride the camels back to Merzouga, have an opportunity to take a shower, and have breakfast. Then we’ll drive to Fes and Meknes where we stay overnight.
Day 6
Meknes – Rabat- Asilah
After breakfast, go to Asilah via Rabat. Visit the Moroccan capital to see the Royal Palace, Mohammed V’s tomb, Hassan Tower, the Kasbah Oudaya, and other attractions. We continue on to Asilah in the late afternoon, where you can unwind and explore a lovely white medina.
Day 7
Tangier – Tangier port or airport
Breakfast, a ride to the airport or to Tangier, and the conclusion of our services.
